The road to success doesn’t have to include a college degree. Many young people are choosing the road less traveled at an early age – entrepreneurship.
This week, I welcome Doug Messer, Founder of University Beyond on the show to share his entrepreneur success story. Doug is a two-time entrepreneur and Millennial career development speaker. He’s also a contributor to the Huffington Post and the National Association of Colleges and Employers.
Doug started his first venture, DBFLY Watches when he was a sophomore in High school. DBFLY manufactured and sold interchangeable silicone watches which were distributed in high profile retail outlets like Shop-rite and Urban Outfitters.
Today, Doug is the Co-Founder and CEO of University Beyond, a technology startup helping brands like Amazon, Starbucks, Pepsi, DirecTV, and more find and manage their on-campus college brand ambassadors. The site allows college students to connect with businesses that are offering jobs on campus. The job listings on the site range from brand ambassadors to working on a social media team.
Doug loves talking about entrepreneurship, education technology, and career development at conferences around the country. In addition, he’s lead keynotes and panels at some of the top young entrepreneur and education conferences in the country.
